Ishan Kishan maiden ipl hundred helps SRH beat RR

Sunrisers Hyderabad started their 2025 IPL season just like 2024. This time Ishan Kishan was an addition to it, whose century helped Hyderabad scored 286 runs which is the second best innings score in IPL history. Despite Rajasthan Royals’ strong efforts, this target proved impossible and they lost the match by 44 runs.

The Travis Head show

Rajasthan Royals’ young captain Ryan Pragya won the toss and decided to bowl first. The opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma took no time to prove this decision wrong.

Abhishek Sharma made his intentions clear by hitting two consecutive fours in the very first over of Fazalhaq Farooqui. After that Travis Head also started taking shots in his familiar style. Both of them hit 21 runs in the second over of Fazalhaq Farooqui and put 45 runs on the scoreboard in three overs. Maheesh Theekshana dismissed Abhishek Sharma(24) in the beginning of the fourth over. After this, Ishan Kishan came to bat and is making his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also starts showing his aggressive intent as soon as he arrives.

Kishan-Head partnership gave headache to RR

In the fifth over of the power play, Travis Head scored 23 runs in Jofra Archer’s over with the help of three fours and a six. By the end of the power play, Hyderabad had scored 94 runs at the loss of one wicket in 6 overs.

Even after the power play was over, Rajasthan bowlers struggled as Hyderabad batsmen continued their aggressive intent and troubled them without giving any chance . Travis Head scored 67 runs in 31 balls and shared an 85-run partnership with Ishan Kishan.

After  Travis Head was out, Ishan Kishan along with Nitish Kumar Reddy took Hyderabad’s innings forward in an aggressive manner. Both of them made a partnership of 72 runs for the third wicket and that too in just 29 balls. Nitish Kumar Reddy was out on a wicket for 30 runs, after which Heinrich Klaasen(34) also batted in a fast and aggressive manner.

After the dismissal of Klassen, Ishan Kishan completed his century in 45 balls and played an important role in helping Hyderabad reach the mammoth target of 266 runs. Ishan Kishan scored 106* runs in 47 balls and hit 11 fours and four sixes in his innings. The strike rate of Hyderabad’s first five batsmen was more than 200 runs.

For Rajasthan Royals, Tushar Deshpande took three wickets, Maheesh Theekshana took two wickets and Sandeep Sharma took one wicket.

Rajasthan Royals’ foreign fast bowler Jofra Archer did not get any wicket. He conceded 76 runs in his four overs.

Simarjeet Singh starting blow to RR 

In response to the target of 287 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal came to open for Rajasthan and Sanju Samson came as an impact batsman Sanju Samson hit 16 runs in the first over of Mohammad Shami

After this, a good spell from Simarjeet Singh disrupted the Rajasthan innings. He took two wickets in the second over of Rajasthan’s innings and in his very first over. He gave Hyderabad a solid start by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag cheaply. Despite both of them being out, Sanju Samson remained firm in chasing the target and took Rajasthan’s innings forward Nitish Rana, who was making his debut for Rajasthan, could not do anything special and he lost his wicket on a score of nine runs.

After this, Dhruv Jurel came to bat and he supported Sanju Samson very well and due to both of them, Rajasthan Royals scored 77 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the power play.

Dhruv Jurel proved his Rs 14 crore tag right with a blazing 70-run innings. In the 13th over , Dhruv district hit three consecutive sixes in one over of Simarjeet Singh. He hit 6 sixes and 5 fours during his entire innings. Sanju Samson’s aggressive attitude continued and he also completed his half-century in a stormy manner. Sanju Samson hit seven fours and four sixes in his innings. He was dismissed by Harshal Patel.

There was a partnership of 111 runs between Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson and that too in just 60 balls. Both of them tried hard to achieve this target but after both of them got out in two consecutive overs. Rajasthan Royals were left with no hope. Dhruv Jurel was dismissed by Hyderabad’s impact player Adam Zampa and Ishan Kishan completed his catch.

Shubham Dubey showed his potential

After this, Shimron Hetmyer(42) and Shubham Dubey opened their hands and hit some sixes Shubham Dubey.  He scored 34 runs in his 11-ball innings with the help of four sixes and remain not out . Rajasthan Royals made the highest score in their IPL history in an innings but it was a failure and they lost the match by 44 runs. For Hyderabad, Harshal Patel and Simarjeet Singh took two wickets each while Adam Zampa and Mohammed Shami got one wicket each.

Batsmen of Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad together hit 30 sixes. By combining the score of both the teams on innings, 528 runs were made which is the second highest in IPL. Ishan Kishan was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant shirt performance.
